| Few data visualization/analysis applications provide real-time manipulation of data variables in 3D; but until now, no application has provided the ability to view over fifteen data variables at once in an organic “data world,” or view, manipulate and customize time as a maleable fourth dimension. Cellipath is the first Pathway Analysis tool that makes the software conform to the user’s bio-data analysis problem, not the other way around. While the Cellipath functionality will be normally available as a module of BioSprockets, it will also be offered as a standalone application to fill the needs of labs looking to provide streamlined ways to "play" with hypotheses. |

Tacitus conducted six months of user research before starting design of its BioSprockets application, interviewing over 20 scientists in computational biology, bioinformatics and drug research as well as leaders in Pharma and Biotech drug discovery around the country in order to gain the deepest possible grasp of current frustrations and unmet needs in pathway analysis software. BioSprockets enables researchers to see, analyze, manage, explore and collaborate within multiple levels of data relationships in scale-free networks, creating a more intuitive understanding and therefore more insight into complex interactions within the drug discovery process.

Through user research with CFOs from Fortune 500 companies across the U.S., Tacitus has learned a great deal about why useful financial data visualization applications are so rare. When a bank makes a decision about a fifty million dollar loan, or a major partnership, or a supplier for eighteen hundred miles of fiber optic cable, or on strategies for a major portfolio… spreadsheets and two-dimensional charts are not sufficient. In the dawn of the 21st century, there is a glut of financial data and data streams that were not available even five years ago.
